I am the uber planner in my friend group, the art director that produced her own shoots, the colleague that can heard all the cats, get the project done and everyone still wants to go to happy hour together. I don’t know how it happened, but I got that gene and we all benefit from it.

Ask questions, be curious, be empathic, learn about the people you are collaborating with. Listening and asking questions beyond the brief creates a welcoming and safe space. And, this leads to the best work.

If something interests me, I learn how to do it. Ceramics? Ukulele? Projection mapping? Yep. I am a bottomless pit of curiosity. Maybe it’s the ADD, or the caffeine addiction. Either way, making makes my brain happy.

14 years of working for leading ad agencies and running my own business has taught me to be optimistically flexible. How do we create something visually arresting that also meets our business goals? How can we make a tiny budget work, or an unrealistic timeline, realistic? These limitations only force us to be more creative.
